What the PO Manager is

The PO Manager ("PO Tool") is Freedom Solar's internal web app for creating and tracking purchase orders for solar installs. Instead of building POs by hand in NetSuite, the tool pulls a project's bill of materials, creates the PO, files the paperwork into the project record, and emails the right people — in a few clicks.

It covers three broad jobs:

Generate POs for LightReach residential installs, by region or one project at a time.
Create & manage Commercial and Service POs, plus manual warehouse POs.
Monitor open POs and inventory: what's ordered, received, billed, what's running late, and what broke the PO, SO and invoice chain.

Who uses it

Purchasing / procurement — the primary users, generating and closing POs.
Regional Operations Managers (ROMs) & warehouse — mostly recipients of the PO emails, plus dashboard viewers.
Admins: manage who can use the Commercial tab, manual warehouse POs and the Service tab, and the part picklist.

The dashboard at a glance

After signing in you land on the dashboard. The top bar holds the logo, the four main tabs and the toolbar. PO GENERATION and OPEN POS each have a second row of tabs under them, and the PO pages (Residential, Commercial and Service) share one layout: a title with a one-line summary, actions on the right, and the same table and status colors.
