Audience: Sales reps. This explains how the Proposal Tool decides which inverters pair with which panels, and which batteries work with which inverters — and how to check a specific pairing or request a new one.

The short version

You don't have to memorize a compatibility chart — the tool enforces it for you. Compatibility is configured on each piece of equipment, and the proposal builder only shows you valid combinations:

1. Pick the panel first. The inverter dropdown then shows only the inverters approved for that panel. If an inverter isn't listed, it isn't configured to pair with that panel.
2. Batteries follow the inverter. Once the inverter is set, only batteries compatible with it can be added; incompatible ones are greyed out or auto-removed with a message.

So the authoritative "matrix" is the tool itself: the options it lets you pick are the approved ones. This page explains how to read that and what to do when something you expect isn't there.

Panels → inverters

Each panel in the catalog carries its own list of compatible inverters:

• A default inverter (auto-selected when you choose the panel), and
• Any approved alternates an admin has added for that panel.
• On a LightReach Lease, a panel can have a LightReach-specific default inverter (LightReach has stricter equipment rules than other lenders).

In the tool: on the PV System tab, set the Panel, then open the Inverter dropdown — it's already filtered to that panel's approved inverters. Changing the panel can change the inverter automatically.

<aside> 💡 If you don't see the inverter you expect: it isn't on that panel's approved list (or not for the selected lender). This isn't a toggle you can flip on the proposal — the pairing has to be added to the catalog. See Requesting a new pairing below.

Inverters → batteries

Batteries are gated by the inverter, not the panel. The tool tracks, per inverter, which batteries it can run:

• Tesla Powerwall 3 — only with inverters flagged to support it (including the integrated Powerwall 3 inverter).
• Enphase batteries — only with inverters that support Enphase (generally Enphase microinverters).
