Who this is for: The design team — quick-access calculators and field references, plus the embedded design metrics dashboard.
What it is: A Tools launcher at the top of the Design tab; each card opens a full-screen tool (with a back button). Below the tools is the embedded Kibana design-metrics dashboard.
At a glance
- Click a tool card to open it; use Back to return to the launcher.
- Your selected tool is in the URL (
?mainTab=design&designTool=…), so you can bookmark/share it.
The tools

- BOM Builder — pull a construction set (or enter inputs) and generate a verified bill of materials from the live catalog.
- Enter the Pegasus / rail BOM table exactly as the packet prints it — spares are added when the BOM is generated, so never type a "qty with spares" column.
- When the BOM is ready, click Finalize BOM to upload it to Sunrise and sync it into the NetSuite Sales Order, so the PO is cut from exactly these rows. See BOM Builder: Finalize BOM.
- Revising a BOM, including an old Excel one? Use Reload a completed BOM (PDF) on S-1 instead of editing the Excel file, match any Not in catalog rows to a catalog part, and finalize. Reopen earlier BOMs from the orange Saved runs button. If the revision changes modules, microinverters or batteries, Sales files a change order in the proposal tool before you finalize. See BOM Builder: Finalize BOM.
- On Generac PWRmicro jobs the generated BOM re-sizes the MLPE mounts (
PSR-MLP) to one per micro, plus spares — Pegasus's designer tool sizes them one per module, which is roughly double on a 2-modules-per-micro system. A note on the review step tells you the number it used. Every other packet line passes through untouched.
- Design Peer Review Checklist — run the peer review, flag what needs action, submit to the master sheet, and print a PDF for the project. See below.
- Export Limit vs. Transformer Upgrade — model solar clipping under a utility export limit and compare it to a transformer upgrade.
- Generac Diagnostic Guide — look up Generac air-cooled E-codes and step-by-step diagnostics.
- BOM Component Catalog (Admin) — admin only — maintain the BOM parts catalog and NetSuite Item IDs.
Design Peer Review Checklist
This replaces the peer review HTML file that used to be passed around by email. It is the same checklist and the same master sheet — it just lives in the dashboard now, and it prints properly.

How to run a review
- Fill in Reviewer, Designer, Project ID, and Review date. All four are required before you can submit.
- Work down the 22 items, grouped into six sections: Site & Roof Conditions, Scope & Layout Feasibility, One-Line Diagram Review, Tesla / ESS, Enphase Systems, and LightReach Eligibility.
- Mark each item Pass, Flag, or N/A. The counter at the top tracks how many you have answered.
- When you mark an item Flag, a Reason for flag box opens underneath it. This is required — the review will not submit until every flagged item has a reason. That reason is what goes to the sheet and onto the printout, so write what you actually found ("one-line shows 60A, BOM lists 50A"), not "see notes".
